Services for customers

As one of the largest surveying firms in the UK, Countrywide Home Surveys have over a thousand RICS chartered surveyors in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. They give us extensive local knowledge and full UK coverage. People and property are our passion.

Our Countrywide home survey reports provide home buyers and renters with information on the condition of a property, plus repairs and maintenance advice to assist in making a decision on whether to purchase the property or not.

We use the latest technology to provide a thorough and outstanding customer journey. Our technology enables us to offer unique products not delivered by other Surveying companies, in compliance with best practice standards.

All our customers are supported by a dedicated concierge team who strive to give the best possible customer experience and are always delighted to answer any queries with regard to the home buying process.

Our customers have direct access to their surveyor to discuss any areas of concern relating to the property being surveyed, before the inspection is completed and post-survey, to discuss the findings in the condition report.

Our head office is based in Manchester where our friendly and professional team will guide you through the process, from the initial enquiry right through to the delivery of your report.

For more information on all our homeowner services, visit our dedicated Countrywide Home Surveys website.
  • Why do you need an RICS Home Survey? Because forewarned is forearmed. Choosing the right survey will help highlight any serious problems and advise you of the specific risks before you commit to the process of buying or selling a property.

We have five different levels of survey. These can only be conducted by an RICS qualified surveyor.

Reliable and cost effective, these reports carry the full weight of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors – the industry’s most respected authority on surveying.

    Level One Countrywide HomeFact® Report

Choose this report if you are looking to buy a property, but want to know if there are any obvious issues that can be identified via a visual inspection, plus information on broadband speed, local amenities, transport links and crime.

    RICS Home Survey Level 2

Choose this report if you need more extensive information whilst buying or selling a conventional house, flat or bungalow, built from common building materials and in reasonable condition.

RICS Home Survey Level 2 with Valuation

As the RICS Home Survey – Level 2, the focus is on assessing the general condition of the main elements of a property. This intermediate level of service includes a more extensive visual inspection of the building, its services and grounds, but still without tests. It also provides the surveyor’s professional opinion on the ‘market value’ of the property, an insurance reinstatement figure for the property, plus details a list of problems that the surveyor considers may affect the value of the property.

    RICS Home Survey Level 3

Choose this report if dealing with a large, older or run-down property, a building that is unusual or altered, or if you’re planning major works. It costs more than the other RICS reports because it gives detailed information about the structure and fabric of the property.

    General Valuation

Choose this report for help to buy exit valuations or inheritance tax purposes. As it provides the surveyor’s professional opinion on the ‘market value’ of the property. Although please note that this is NOT a survey report and does not report on the condition of the property.
