Applying for a mortgage for a rental property is similar to securing a mortgage for your own home.

  • Your mortgage consultant will arrange your mortgage application and finalise your protection and conveyancing needs.
  • A surveyor will put together a report on your new property.
  • Your conveyancer will organise local searches.
  • You will receive your mortgage offer from your chosen lender.
  • Check all your arrangements for the final time and exchange contracts.
  • On completion, your solicitor/conveyancer will transfer your money to the seller’s solicitor. In Scotland, the conclusion of missives marks the completion of contract negotiations.
  • Pick up the keys to your new property.
