The Fast Track programme will support 36 trainee surveyors towards RICS Associate membership

Countrywide plc has launched their latest Fast Track trainee programme supporting 36 property experienced candidates towards RICS Associate membership during 2016.

The latest trainee programme builds upon Countrywide’s ambitious training and development strategy which has provided much needed capacity to the valuation industry. Gaining RICS Associate membership is an important first step in professional career development as a residential surveyor for the trainees.

Making use of a well-established high profile academy structure and combining classroom study with practical on-site skills development, Countrywide’s trainee surveyors will work closely within an experienced mentor network observing and being tutored in best practice and professional standards. As with previous programmes, the latest programme has been made available to existing employees as well as promoted across the wider industry with estate agency and lettings being two particular target groups for new surveyor recruitment.

Commenting on the launch of the latest Fast Track programme, Paul Wareham, Managing Director of Countrywide Surveying Services, said:

“We are pleased to be at the forefront of developments in major trainee surveyor schemes. With our previous Fast Track candidates from programmes launched in 2013 and 2014 now RICS qualified and gaining ever greater standing within their professional communities, our Class of 2015 have much to aspire to and some exceptional young surveyors to work alongside.”

This latest Fast Track programme underlines the extent of commitment to supporting and developing surveyors of the future in what has in recent times become a marketplace lacking capacity of suitably trained and professionally qualified individuals. With this in mind, sowing the seeds of a professional career in early years in essential as underlined by Countrywide’s grass roots surveyor scheme offering opportunities to develop through to qualified Surveyors to operational colleagues within the business.

Working in conjunction with The College of Estate Management, part of Reading University, the scheme offers surveying diploma and more recently foundation degree qualifications to selected candidates as an early stage pathway towards RICS Associate Membership.

This regime is already producing well prepared trainees capable of fulfilling field based roles whilst final preparations are completed towards RICS qualification. A total of 15 diploma students are now working alongside experienced surveyor mentors in London, the South East and in a number of cities in the North and the Midlands, and will submit for the AssocRICS qualification in October 2015, building future capacity into the surveyor network from December 2015.

The grassroots scheme has been repeated in 2015 with 20 more colleagues beginning their foundation degree studies with The College of Estate Management this month, Countrywide continue to position themselves at the forefront of surveyor training within the residential arena.
