A team of five running enthusiasts from Countrywide, the UK's largest estate agency and property group, will be taking part in the Berlin Marathon in September, to raise money for leading housing charity, Shelter.

As part of Countrywide's commitment to charity fundraising, a team from the Financial Services division, comprising: Nigel Stockton, Director of Financial Services, Claire Limon, Director of Insurance Services, Chris Monaghan, Sales & Marketing Manager at Countrywide Principal Services, Bev Norton, Development and Support Manager and Sarah Oakley, Acting Head of Finance, will take part in the 26-mile run, on 30 September.
For Nigel, this will be his tenth marathon, having already ran in London, Tokyo, and New York marathons, whilst Claire has previously completed the London marathon, and last year, ran the Tower 42 Vertical Rush challenge for Shelter.
The team has selected Shelter as their charity, for which they hope to raise £5,000, to help fund its important work in tackling homelessness and other housing problems.
In addition to ongoing charity fundraising amongst Countrywide employees and across its network of branches, the Countrywide Group also participate in the 'Give as you Earn' workplace giving scheme.
Nigel, who only recently took up running after turning 40, comments:

"Even though Claire and I have completed marathons before, it is still an exciting challenge and we are all looking forward to participating in the event as a team to support an amazing charity and the work that they do.

"We're now training hard, every weekend, with additional runs squeezed in before and after work, so hopefully we are all ready for the big event and can help each other get through it!"
