Countrywide Surveying Services is delighted to announce that of the 54 surveying trainees who submitted for RICS assessment in April 2014, 50 are now qualified as Associates of RICS.

This represents a 92% pass rate, which is exceptional when compared to previous industry wide pass rates of circa 70%.

Countrywide Surveying Services launched the first major trainee surveyor programme in the industry in 2013, as part of its plans to recruit market experienced professionals in response to the well publicised capacity issues. Over 400 applications were received from both inside and outside the Group and from these applicants, 90 successful candidates were accepted onto the programme joining in three cohorts.

The multi-million pound investment will see Countrywide Surveying Services add circa 25% additional capacity to its business and will significantly benefit clients during the course of 2014.  Throughout the whole process, Countrywide Surveying Services has been working closely with its clients along with the RICS and the level of support from all concerned has been unprecedented.

Luay Al-Khatib, Regional Director, RICS UK comments:

"What a fantastic success for Countrywide. This exceptional pass rate is clearly testament to high calibre individuals and a first rate training programme.  With a pressing shortage of skilled valuers in the market, I am pleased to say that we are working proactively with the leading businesses in the residential sector to bring in a new generation of well qualified and regulated professionals through the Assoc RICS qualification. I would like to thank the senior managers at Countrywide for presenting such a well prepared and talented people, and I look forward to seeing them progress through their careers as RICS members.”

Paul Chapman, Managing Director, Countrywide Surveying Services, said:

“We are extremely pleased to have achieved this fantastic success in qualifying such a high proportion of our trainees, who now have the foundations to develop a successful career as a Chartered Surveyor.

“This is clearly testament to the quality and sheer hard work of the candidates themselves but also the first class training and support that we have been able to provide as part of our objectives to recruit the best people and to become the employer of choice in the residential valuation and surveying industry. Once again, we are delighted to be taking such a significant lead in terms of innovation and investment for the benefit of our clients.”

Work continues with the third cohort of trainees on the programme, the majority of which joined Countrywide Surveying Services in January, and will submit for RICS assessment in July 2014.
