Countrywide have ranked 14th in this year's Sunday Times Top Track 250 companies.
Now in its seventh year, the league table ranks Britain's 250 leading mid-market private companies. The Top Track 250 index identifies the mid-market private companies that continue to show ambition to grow throughout the downturn and are rising to the challenging market conditions.
Countrywide are the only property related business to feature in the top 20, which also highlights firms that are leading the recovery by including those that have increased their revenue or, where sales have decreased, have boosted their operating profits according to their available accounts.
Countrywide were also highlighted as the ninth biggest employer, in this sector in the UK. Despite tough conditions, the companies combined in this list added 23,200 to their headcount in the last year, bringing the total employees to 464,933, equal to 1.5% of the UK workforce
This year's league table shows that many of Britain's private, mid-sized firms are proving innovative and ambitious in the current market. The league table features a host of well-known brands including Warburtons, Selfridges, Virgin Active and Manchester United FC alongside Countrywide.
