Countrywide expands lettings business with three acquisitions in May and June

Countrywide Residential Lettings, part of the UK's largest estate agency and property services Group has furthermore secured its position as theUK's leading lettings network with the acquisition of three successful businesses over the last seven weeks.

The recent acquisitions include Cryers in Southampton, plus the well established lettings portfolios of Hootons in centralBristoland Ashley & Peck inBrentwood. These successful purchases take the total number of lettings businesses acquired by Countrywide Residential Lettings to seven this year.

Cryers, originally set up by Michael Cryer in 1973 has grown to become an established lettings business in the city centre ofSouthampton. Covering popular areas like Polygon,BanisterPark,Hill Lane,Inner Avenue, Portswood and Highfield, the agency specialises in student accommodation, catering forSouthamptonUniversityandSouthamptonSolentUniversitystudents. The excellent team of staff are to remain with the business, to continue their local expertises and great customer service. Prior to retirement, Michael Cryer will also be actively involved in the business to aid the transition as the business is transferred over to Countrywide.

The Hootons lettings portfolio, consisting of quality properties in the affluent areas of centralBristol,Clifton, Redland and Cotham has been transferred over to theWhiteladies Roadbranch of Chappell and Matthews inClifton. The office already provides a successful and well-established lettings service, alongside residential estate agency, new homes and mortgage services. Hootons, managed by Clare Hooton, will continue to trade as commercial property business.

The Ashley & Peck lettings portfolio consists of properties in Brentwood, Shenfield, Hutton and the surrounding areas and is now managed by the Bairstow Eves' Brentwood High Street office inEssex. The Ashley & Peck sales department has been retained by the owners David Ashley and Antony Peck, but the lettings team have transferred over to Countrywide with the lettings business.
