Grenville Turner
Group Chief Executive Officer
Joined the Group in August 2006 as an Executive Director and became Group Chief Executive in January 2007. Also, a director of Countrywide Estate Agents and Hamptons International.
With 36 years experience in retail banking and the property sector, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Mortgage Strategy Awards 2011 in recognition of his positive contribution to the property sector. Currently, Executive Chairman of Hamptons International, Chairman of Knightsbridge Student Housing Ltd and Bellpenny Ltd, he is also a non-executive Director of Zoopla Property Group. Grenville qualified as a Chartered Banker in 1982 and holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.
Jim Clarke
Group Chief Financial Officer
Joined the Group in November 2007. Was previously Finance Director and Company Secretary of JD Wetherspoon and previously worked for David Lloyd Leisure (a division of Whitbread plc) and HP Bulmer Holdings plc. A graduate of Stirling University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984.
Nick Dunning
Group Commercial Director
Joined the Group in September 2007 as Commercial Director responsible for the Lettings Division, Marketing, Corporate Projects and IT. Previously spent 15 years in the high tech industry, with assignments in Hong Kong, USA and and more recently EMEA where he was responsible for all of Sales and Marketing. Graduated from Oxford University in 1985 and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Paul Creffield
Managing Director London & Premier
Having been with the company since October 2006, Paul has responsibility for Countrywide’s London and Premier businesses, the Group's Distribution Strategy and is Chairman of TM Group (UK) Ltd. Paul joined from Rightmove where he was one of the operational Managing Directors through a period of significant growth and change. Former senior roles have been with Nationwide Building Society and with Countrywide immediately prior to joining Rightmove where he was a Director of Countrywide Surveyors and different Group companies.
Robert Scarff
Managing Director, Estate Agency Division
Joined the Group as a Trainee Sales Negotiator with Taylors Estate Agents in 1978 and was appointed Managing Director of Dixons Estate Agents in 1991. Was instrumental in establishing the Group's Conveyancing Division in 1997 and held the position of Managing Director for 18 months. Was appointed as a Divisional Director in 1999, a position he held until 2008 when he was appointed to his current position. Is a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents.
Guy Batchelor
Managing Director, Corporate Business
Joined in October 2008 and is responsible for corporate business to business relationships across the Group. Previously Guy was a Senior Vice President with Lehman Brothers, European Mortgage Division and Sales and Marketing Director, Platform, Britannia Building Society’s intermediary mortgage lender. He was a Director and then Chairman of the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association and a member of the Executive Committee of the Council of Mortgage Lenders from 2003 to 2008.
Matthew Hewitt
Chief Marketing Officer, Countrywide Group
Joined the Group in April 2008. Responsible for the Countrywide Group's marketing activities and spend. This includes Countrywide’s Advertising, Online activities and development, PR and general marketing activities. Previous roles have been at Safeway plc and Dell Computer Corporation, where he spent eight years working in the Home & Small Business division in EMEA. A Graduate of Loughborough University and a qualified Management Accountant.
Oliver Skagerlind
Chief Information Officer, Countrywide Group
Joined the Group in February 2011 and has overall responsibility for all aspects of Information Technology.
Immediately before joining, Oliver was Head of Delivery at RBS Insurance.
Previous organisations include Centrica, Carphone Warehouse and American Express where he has delivered on complex assignments across all technology functions in EMEA and USA regions.
Nigel Stockton
Financial Services Director
Nigel joined Countrywide from Lloyds Banking Group where he was the Sales Director for Mortgages. Previous roles include Managing Director of Birmingham Midshires, Managing Director of HBOS Intermediary and HBOS Head of Partnerships, prior to which he held commercial directorships with the Financial Times, FT.com and an internet start up firm. After graduating from York University, Nigel spent the first 12 years of his career with NatWest in various commercial lending, sales and service roles. Nigel holds an MBA from London Business School.
Graham Bell
Finance Director, Countrywide Estate Agents
Graham joined Countrywide in January 2010 from PricewaterhouseCoopers where he headed the Consumer Goods team within PwC Corporate Finance, leading a number of high profile corporate transactions. In 2004-5, he worked in a Strategy role for PwC’s global operations in Washington D.C. Graham has additional responsibility for Mergers & Acquisitions within the Countrywide Group. He is a graduate of Nottingham University and a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Julian Irby
Finance Director, Lettings Division
Joined the Group in 2000. Responsible for the Countrywide Group's Lettings Division financial affairs including reporting, planning and forecasting, the acquisition of new businesses and the client accounting activities. Previous roles have been within the property, newspaper and health industries. A Qualified Accountant and MBA – Manchester Business School.
Alyn North
Professional Services Director
Responsible for Countrywide Group's Conveyancing and Surveying businesses. Alyn joined Countrywide in June 2010 from PricewaterhouseCoopers Corporate Finance where he advised on a number of transactions in the Consumer and Leisure space, including a number of property related acquisition, disposal and restructuring deals for private equity investors, banking and corporate clients. Alyn is a graduate of Bristol University and a qualified Chartered Accountant.
